Kamiya Saya |
Stardom's October 12 Shin-Kiba event was canceled due to the typhoon, but the October 14 Korakuen Hall event will proceed as scheduled, with Tam Nakano and Saya Kamitani facing off in their first-ever singles match in the opening bout. Kamitani, a former Stardom Idols member, was inspired to become a professional wrestler after meeting Nakano. This will be Kamitani's fifth singles match in just over two months since her debut. Nakano says she feels a sense of responsibility for Kamitani's debut. What kind of conversation will the two have during the match?
The match began with Kamiya offering a handshake, which Nakano cleanly accepted. Nakano extended his hand, and Kamiya cautiously moved into a lock-up. When Nakano grabbed Kamiya's arm, Kamiya took it back. Kamiya went for a headlock and took the match to the ground. Nakano attempted a head scissors, but Kamiya escaped. When Nakano went to the ropes, Kamiya delivered a shoulder tackle. Nakano endured the repeated tackles and got back up. Nakano won the exchange and delivered a soccer ball kick. Nakano attempted a bow and arrow hold, but Kamiya withstood it and delivered a series of elbows. Nakano fought back, and Kamiya went down. Still, Kamiya continued to deliver elbows. Nakano attempted a back kick and then dashed, but Kamiya shouted "Don't underestimate me!" and delivered a dropkick. Kamiya caught Nakano in a sickle hold. He transitioned into a reverse Boston crab and arched his back, but Nakano quickly escaped and applied a reverse single leg Boston crab. Kamiya escaped, and Nakano stomped on his back. Kamiya dodged a charge and delivered a dropkick. Kamitani announced his intention and attempted to force a submission with a body slam followed by a reverse Boston crab. Nakano managed to reach the ropes. Kamitani delivered a series of dropkicks, announcing the finish, and delivered another one. Kamitani cornered Nakano with a series of pins. He landed a series of mounted punches and pinned him again, but Nakano kicked out. As Kamitani stood up, Nakano rolled him up and delivered a low kick to his head. Nakano pulled Kamitani up and delivered a back drop. Kamitani countered and rolled him up, but it was only a two count. He went for a series of roll-ups again, but Nakano kicked out each time. Kamitani landed a series of elbows and ran to the ropes, but Nakano countered with a spin kick. He charged again but was hit with another spin kick. Kamitani could not kick out, and Nakano was announced as the winner. After the match, Nakano helped Kamitani up and bowed to all four sides. He helped Kamitani off the ring, and they left together
Nakano's comment
Nakano: "There are so many feelings I have towards Kamiya that I can't fully express here. People call it an idol master-apprentice showdown, but I've never once thought of Kamiya as my apprentice. Kamiya looks up to me and calls me Tamu-san, but ever since I met her, I've always thought of her as someone who can see the future on the same level as me. It's only been a year since we met, but she's really made me realize so many things, and I make new discoveries every day since meeting her. When I was going through a tough time, her generosity and generosity helped me a lot. I felt like I was the one receiving all the attention, so this time, I approached it with the hope that I could give something back to Kamiya."
--Finally, two brutal spin kicks
"Actually, I had decided to do it in one go, with a backspin, and I got a good one on the first try, and I thought, 'Ah, that's the finish,' or rather, 'I've conveyed my message,' but then Kamiya got up. I felt that the look on Kamiya's face that I saw today was the first time I had ever seen that look on her face. So I thought I had to give her something more, something that would make her call me her master, and I gave her a second one."
—I think you wanted to feel that Kamiya genuinely wanted to do pro wrestling, right?
"That's amazing, how did you know?"
—Did you feel that way?
"I've always felt so guilty. She aimed to be an idol, and then she had to go through such a painful, difficult, and difficult experience. It might sound presumptuous, but I still think I changed Kamiya's life. Her pretty face got scarred and bruised. The slender legs required of an idol became rough and bumpy. So I think she wanted help in those areas too. I wanted to pour out my overwhelming feelings to Kamiya. I know it's selfish of me. But she accepted it, and Kamiya accepted it, and when I finally jumped on top of her as she was stretched out and got the pin, she said she was happy to have met Tam and to have discovered pro wrestling (tears). Hearing that (tears) really saved me. I want to experience the wonderful world of pro wrestling together with Kamiya, to the point where she would have been unhappy if she hadn't discovered it. It was clear that Kamiya loves pro wrestling so much that it made me feel presumptuous for me to have felt guilty at all. But she really is an incredible presence."
Comment from Kamitani
"I went into the match intending to convey all the feelings I've had for a year since we met. Up until now, when I've had matches in pro wrestling, when I've had matches against other wrestlers, I've always felt a bit hesitant or something, but because it was Tam-san, I was able to go all out. I felt like I broke through some kind of barrier inside myself. I think I was able to let my emotions explode more than ever before. I think that was because of all the feelings I've had for Tam-san for a year, and because Tam-san is the senior wrestler I trust the most."
—You managed to get back up after the first spin kick, didn't you?
"It was so tough that I almost blacked out, but I had decided that no matter what happened this time, I would go all out against Tamu, so I somehow managed to get back up through sheer willpower, but I was defeated on the second hit. I am happy that I was able to encounter professional wrestling, and I am filled with gratitude."

Next, Andras and Hayter enter the ring. Oedo Tai attacks and overwhelms Kid's team. They grab Kid and apply a double submission hold. They lift Kid up and attempt an over-the-top, but Iida blocks it on the apron. Kid and Iida deliver a double dropkick. Kid attempts a body attack, but Andras catches him. Kid rolls him up and delivers a dropkick to his back. Kid attempts a roll-up, but Hater intervenes in time. With Hater in the ring, Iida attempts a series of roll-ups. Andras and Hater deliver a brainbuster to Iida. Hater then hits Iida with a Ushigoroshi. Iida is unable to kick out, and Hater's team wins. Next up are Hazuki and Natsuko, a match between two members of the Oedo Tai stable. As soon as the bell rings, Hazuki and Natsuko charge at Hater, splitting the opposing team and launching a combined attack on Hater. After a double senton, Hazuki delivers a face wash. Hazuki dodges Hater's spear attack and teams up with Natsuko. Hazuki attempts a Codebreaker, but is interrupted as she climbs to the corner. Andras kicks Hazuki in the eye and sends her to the corner. Hazuki drops her, leaving Andras on the apron. Hater tries to rescue Andras as she runs around on the apron, but Hazuki slips past him and kicks Andras off. This makes Hazuki & Natsuko the winners of the gauntlet match

The tag team league official match scheduled for October 12th in Shin-Kiba has been rescheduled due to the event's cancellation. Therefore, this event will effectively be the opening match of the tag team league. Kicking off the tournament will be the team of Natsu Sumire & Martina against the team of Bobby Tyler & Zoe Lucas. How Natsu handles being surrounded by foreigners will likely be the deciding factor. No team can afford to lose if they want to get off to a strong start
The Summer team enters with cans of beer in hand. Summer announces her own name. Tyler provokes Martina by sticking out her middle finger. Martina hides the beer. When the bell rings, she hands it to Lucas. Lucas throws the can away. Martina counters with a thrust kick followed by a missile kick. Summer and Martina team up and corner Lucas. They catch Tyler who tries to interfere and deliver a Bronco Buster from two directions. They both straddle Zoe. Summer attempts a submission hold on Lucas, but Tyler breaks it up. Tyler sends Martina out of the ring with a neckbreaker. Lucas and Tyler slam Summer onto the mat. Lucas hits Summer with a running spin kick and a neckbreaker drop. Tyler hits Summer with a series of running elbow attacks followed by a big boot. Tyler prepares for a double arm hold on Summer. Summer resists and delivers a Manhattan Drop. They call in Martina and attack together. Martina landed a series of elbows on Tyler. Tyler got behind Lucas, who then delivered a leg drop on the apron, followed by a facebuster from Tyler. Martina then elbowed and headbutted both of them. Martina hit Tyler with a Codebreaker from the corner. When Tyler kicked out, Martina dodged a double kick and headbutted him, then, getting into a Cobra Twist position, she slammed him down in a reverse motion, and Tyler couldn't kick out, resulting in a three-count

The tag team league match pits Mayu Iwatani & Saki Kashima against Momo Watanabe & AZM. This match also pits STARS against Queen's Quest, and AZM's presence may be the key to success. In the single league tournament, 5☆STAR GP, AZM, who participated as a substitute, made great strides. In fact, AZM achieved a record of 4 wins and 4 losses, far exceeding expectations. Moreover, she even managed to defeat Kashima, her opponent in this match. In the final official match of the 5☆STAR GP, Momo defeated Iwatani. For the Queen's Quest side, this is a match where they will come at you with momentum, while for the STARS side, revenge is the theme. Will Momo & AZM's momentum carry over to the tag league, or will Iwatani & Kashima get their revenge in the singles and gain a foothold to reclaim the Goddesses of Stardom Championship?
AZM and Kashima start the match. After an exchange of arm whips, Kashima lands a dropkick. Iwatani enters the ring and teams up with Kashima to attack AZM in a coordinated attack. Momo kicks out and Iwatani signals the finish and delivers a diving foot stomp. Momo dodges and hits a Soumatou. Momo
Iwatani climbed onto the corner but Kashima blocked her, and Iwatani delivered a superplex Frankensteiner, followed by a diving foot stomp from Kashima and a frog splash from Iwatani. AZM was caught in a double kick combination. Iwatani declared she was going for the finish, but Momo went for a Peach Sunrise from the corner. However, she was rolled up. Iwatani kicked out and delivered a moonsault press to Momo. Momo couldn't kick out, and Iwatani won
Iwatani's comment
--What color is your costume?
"Since it's a tag team league, we were actually planning to have matching costumes made. But then we were told they wouldn't be ready in time for the opening match, so we gave up on the matching outfits. Then we ordered gowns, but those didn't arrive in time either and just arrived today. And there's no one to receive them yet (laughs)."
—Did you change costumes?
"that's right"
—The costume you're wearing now is Kashima's, and Kashima played the match in Iwatani's costume?
"Yes, that's right. I think Saki's costume suits me, but I feel like it looked a little strange to Saki (laughs). But this time, since the 5☆STAR GP is over, it's not a fight I'm fighting alone, it's a fight with my teammates, so I changed it to something that's kind of matching, or something like that, to convey the meaning of "let's do our best together."
—Will you be wearing that costume throughout the entire series? Or is it just for today?
"...Well, I don't know. It depends on the customers' reaction."
—Since you won, is there a possibility that it will become a lucky costume?
"That's true. But personally, I have this superstition that if I lose the first match, I'll be more likely to win the championship, so while I'm happy that I won, I'm also a little worried about whether it's okay that I won today."
—But being able to get revenge on Momo must be a big deal, right?
"Ah, yes. We lost at 5☆STAR. Well, we weren't really thinking about that when we were playing. We've been working together as a tag team for quite a while now, so rather than using any new moves, we were really happy that we were able to win using the moves and combination moves we've been doing all along, and we want to keep moving forward from here on out."
—Is your goal to win the tournament and reclaim the Goddess Championship?
"Yes, of course, I would like to get it back."
--Do you think your teamwork will work well throughout the series?
Kashima says that their teamwork isn't always great, but in the end they still win
"Yes. Today, our tempo was a little off, or something like that (laughs). There were some parts that made me think, 'Huh?', but we still managed to get results. We don't always mesh well together, but we're always comfortable being together. It's like our private lives are directly reflected in the ring, so even if something seems off, there's no sense of distrust, it's more like, 'Ah, there it is' (laughs)."
-- Is it a team that's easy to work with naturally?
"Yes, that's right."

*The 13th champion, Arisa Hoshiki, successfully defended her title for the sixth time

The rematch at Korakuen Hall on September 22nd is already happening. Last time, they clashed in the final official match of the 5☆STAR GP, ending in a 15-minute time limit draw. This decisive match will be a battle for Arisa Hoshiki's white belt. Kagetsu claims to have "absolutely no interest in white," but there is much interest in what she will do once she holds the Wonder Championship. At the same time, this match could be the start of a long reign for Hoshiki. If Hoshiki can defend the belt here, she will truly be invincible. Hoshiki seemed to have lost some momentum in the single league tournament, but she dispelled those worries in her first singles match against Kagetsu. The outcome of this match will greatly change the landscape of the end of 2019
The match started with a kicking threat and then an exchange of strikes. After grappling and separating, Kagetsu landed a strike, and Hoshiki fought back, causing a brief break. At the back of the ringside, Nakano watched Hoshiki's match. Nakano grabbed Hoshiki's neck from behind. Hoshiki grabbed Nakano's arm and kicked her. She cornered Kagetsu and delivered a double knee attack. Kagetsu kicked out at one, but Hoshiki used the ropes to deliver a kick. Hoshiki applied a dragon sleeper. Hoshiki unleashed a series of big boots. However, Kagetsu caught the second one and sent her outside the ring, where she delivered a high-speed tope. Kagetsu launched another tope. Kagetsu then performed a plancha over the ring post. Water was sprayed outside the ring. Kagetsu brought Hoshiki back into the ring and delivered a swan dive missile kick. She followed up with a corner elbow attack and a corner dropkick to the face. Five minutes had passed. Kagetsu delivered a diving foot stomp to Hoshiki's right knee. Then a diving foot stomp to her left arm. And another one to her back. Hoshiki lands a diving foot stomp to Kagetsu's abdomen, then grabs her arm and applies a submission hold. Hoshiki tries to move forward but can't get up, and Kagetsu taunts her, "Come on." Hoshiki manages to stand up, but Kagetsu follows up with a series of strikes. Hoshiki attempts a middle kick, but Kagetsu retaliates. They exchange middle kicks, with Hoshiki landing several in quick succession. Kagetsu tries to catch them, but Hoshiki shakes them off. Hoshiki leaps onto Kagetsu. Kagetsu slams her forward and charges. Hoshiki kicks her to the neck from the corner. After another kick, 10 minutes have passed. Hoshiki pulls Kagetsu up and delivers a high kick. Kagetsu blocks it, but Hoshiki follows up with a neckbreaker and an Oscutter. However, Kagetsu manages to escape. Hoshiki lifts Kagetsu from a 1399 and throws her forward. Hoshiki climbs to the corner, but Kagetsu gets up and slams her backward. Both charge, and Kagetsu follows up with an Ebisu Drop. Hoshiki counters, and Kagetsu delivers another Ebisu Drop. Kagetsu dodges the Oedo Coaster after declaring the finish. Hoshiki attempts a knee attack but can't get the pin. Both are down. After dodging kicks, Kagetsu lands a high kick. Hoshiki is down but kicks out at two. Kagetsu goes for a neck lock from below. Hoshiki escapes and Kagetsu heads to the corner saying, "Watch this, you guys." Kagetsu attempts a 1399 but only gets a one count. Hoshiki lands an Ebisu Drop. 15 minutes have passed. Both are down. Hoshiki lands a high kick, Kagetsu lands a high kick too. Hoshiki lands another high kick. Kagetsu lands one too, and they exchange high kicks. Hoshiki lands a series of high kicks. Kagetsu retaliates and Hoshiki attempts a knee attack. Kagetsu dodges but Hoshiki counters with a series of kicks. Kagetsu retaliates and Hoshiki slams the mat in frustration. Hoshiki pulls Kagetsu up and attempts a Brazilian kick. Kagetsu uses the referee to spray mist before landing an Ebisu Drop and an Oedo Coaster. This move seemed to connect, but Hoshiki managed to clear it. Kagetsu went for a Death Valley Driver, but Hoshiki countered with a knee, and Kagetsu's mist missed, cutting through the air. Hoshiki then landed a Brazilian kick, which Kagetsu couldn't counter, and the champion successfully defended her title
Hoshiki: "Haa, haa. Seriously, this is the sixth time! The sixth time? It's the sixth time! I've defended the belt. But it went by so fast to get to the sixth time... Before I say anything more (shakes hands with Kagetsu). Kagetsu-san is someone I respect regardless of our unit. So... so I'm incredibly happy that I won today! Thank you very much. But it went by so fast. It's crazy... it went by so fast, but for me, Kagetsu-san was the person I absolutely had to defeat in Stardom. I've been on a defense streak, and I was wondering who would be next. It feels like there's no next opponent. But there's still something I need to do, and I lost to several people in the 5★STAR GP. I have to defeat those people. First up is Jamie, who was the first to defeat me. I want to have a match with this important belt on the line. Jamie, are you there?"
Jamie: "Alissa, congratulations. Congratulations. Do you remember when I beat you in the 5★STAR GP?" "I'll challenge you for your white belt."
Hoshiki: "Wait a minute, did you just say you'll challenge me for the white belt? Okay! I didn't understand the rest of what you said, sorry. But if we can have a match
Jamie: "Good luck."
Hoshiki: "Now that we've made a promise, I don't know when it will be, but I'll decide on a date and I'll definitely beat Jamie, get my revenge, and continue to defend the white belt. Thank you!"

Comment from Hoshiki
--You and Kagetsu drew in your last match at Korakuen Hall, and this time it's a one-on-one match with the belt on the line
"As expected, Kagetsu is really strong. Really strong. I was slow to realize that I had pinned her for three. It was like, 'Oh, right,'"
—Did it take you a while to realize that you had won, that it was over?
"Yes, I was pretty damaged, so the Brazilian kick was a full-force attack, and I did it while I was in a daze."
—You said that if you won this match, you would see a new view. Did you see a new view?
"Yes, a little. I think the reason I say a little is because I still haven't beaten the people I've lost to in singles matches. Certainly, I respect Kagetsu and I think she's incredibly strong. It's true that I was able to beat someone like her, but it's also true that there are people I've lost to. So I thought I had to eliminate those first. I thought, if I beat Kagetsu, there won't be any more, right? But then I thought, no, there are still some left, to be honest. I had lost to several people, so I went to the 5☆STARGP."
-- Next up is Jamie, are you planning to go through them in the order they lost?
"That's what I'm thinking right now. There are some players who are currently out due to injury, but I'd like to play against them eventually. Basically, I want to play in the order of appearance."
—If you defend in that order and defeat everyone who loses, will that be a complete victory?
"Yes, that's right. I thought I'd see a different view, but after the match ended, I remembered. I still remember. That's what I thought. That's my honest feeling."
—Given the current situation, it seemed unlikely that there would be a next match, but was that because they had lost elsewhere (in the league)?
"That's right. I remember now."
--You said you were thinking about something new for today's match, is that it?
"That's it."
-- Oscutter
"It's the Oscutter (laughs). What is it? Someone on Twitter said they wanted to teach me a move. I thought I'd like to use it at an important moment. That's why I saved it until now instead of using it during 5☆STAR."
—Unfortunately, it wasn't a finish
"I didn't become one (laughs). That's because the Oscutter is Ospreay's move. I thought I still had a long way to go. But Ospreay gave a name to the move he taught me, and when he taught it to me, he called it SSC (Shining Star Cutter). I learned it in practice."
—Directly taught, and officially approved by the person himself?
"I agree"
--But I got beaten by 1399 at Kagetsu
"I was like, 'Are you serious?' and I thought, 'I'm definitely going to get revenge.' I felt like I had to do it to him (the Ebisu Drop) (laughs)."
—Did you steal your opponent's technique back?
"Yes. I'm not usually the type to try to steal my opponent's techniques, but I was so annoyed that I just let it out (laughs)."
—You've come as the white champion
"Honestly, the moment I successfully defended my title for the sixth time, I was like, 'Wait, is this the sixth time already?' It didn't really sink in for me, because it went by so quickly since I won the belt. It went by so fast; next month will mark exactly one year since my return, and it really did go by in a flash. But it made me realize that this is how time passes, so I want to cherish each and every moment, each and every match, and continue to fight from here on out."

* Bea Priestley, the 11th champion, successfully defended her title for the fifth time

The main event is the fifth title defense for World of Stardom Champion Bea Priestley against 5☆STAR GP 2019 winner Hana Kimura. Hana stood at the top of the 18 participating wrestlers, but a singles match between the two never materialized because Priestley was in a different bracket. Also, when Priestley first came to Japan, she challenged Kagetsu & Hana for the Goddess of Stardom Championship, but they never faced each other in a singles match until now. This is Hana's first challenge for the red belt in exactly one year since her grudge title match against Kagetsu. What kind of battle will unfold for the top belt? If Hana wins, she will of course become the first red belt champion. Priestley will put on a show as the strongest foreign wrestler to stop Hana from winning the title. What will be the outcome of this all-out title match...?
Both wrestlers started cautiously. After a lock-up, Hana took Presley's back and Presley grabbed her arm. After a struggle for the arm, Presley applied a headlock. Hana threw Presley into the ropes and Presley delivered a shoulder tackle. After an exchange of arm whips, they faced each other. Hana held out both hands and said "Please," to which Presley replied "Fuck you!" Hana provoked a be call, but Presley spat at her. Hana retorted "Fuck you, bitch!" and went outside the ring. Hana trapped Presley in the curtain and threw a chair at her. She then struck Presley with an umbrella. She brought her back into the ring and stomped on her back. She threw her out of the ring again and slammed her forehead into the wall outside the ring. Hana brought her back in at the 16 count and delivered stomps before applying a reverse Boston crab. Five minutes had passed. Presley came forward with strikes, but Hana landed a series of big boots. Priestley: "Bea Priestley is Stardom's number one wrestler. The number one fucking foreigner. I wonder who the next challenger will be?"
Iwatani appears.
Priestley: "Mayu, what is it?"
Iwatani: "Good evening everyone at Korakuen! It's finally here! Finally, finally, I've been waiting for this day. Next time at Korakuen Hall, please let me challenge for the red belt."
Priestley: "Mayu, you want this belt?"
Iwatani: "Yeah, yeah, yeah!"
Bea: "Next Korakuen?"
Iwatani: "Yes!"
Priestley: "Okay."
Iwatani: "Thank you very much (both shake hands). So, next time at Korakuen, I will definitely wear the red belt, so please come and watch. Thank you for your support!"
Bea: "Okay, Mayu, bye-bye. QQ, please, Momo."
President Ogawa: "Thank you for coming today. There is a player I would like to introduce. A player who wants to join our team has come here with great passion. We want to accept that passion and support her."
Julia appears.
Giulia: "Hello everyone. I'm Giulia. I've come here today with the goal of becoming the top in the world of women's professional wrestling. I'll be showing you a passionate match in this shining Stardom ring, so please support me. That's all."
Momo: "...Nice to meet you. ...Hello everyone. Now that Giulia is here, I'd like to wrap things up. Bea, are you okay? Does everyone know the QQ closing? Let's go, believe in the present, shine tomorrow? You decide who to believe in!"
Priestley: "Bow down to the fucking queens!"

President Ogawa
"This morning, she (Giulia) contacted me and said she really wanted to perform in Stardom. So I asked her to come to the venue, and we talked, and we felt her sincerity, so we let her into the ring."
—Is there anything you can say about the future at this stage?
"She wants to aim higher, right? She has a strong desire to reach the top in this ring, and that's why she took this action. But her resolve is firm. The fact that she was able to express her feelings like that in the ring today means she's thinking about joining the company."
--When will she be competing in Stardom? "Nothing has been decided yet. (Has she left her previous promotion?) Yes, she has left. We don't have much data on her either, so we need to discuss how we're going to proceed. However, it takes a lot of courage to come here, so you can't come here with just any idea. This promotion doesn't interact with other promotions and follows its own path, so it may cut ties with others, and you can't come here without being prepared for all of that. She was prepared for that. I don't know anything about the other promotions, but I think it's fine as long as she shines here."
—Do you have a contract with your previous organization?
"I heard there's no contract. If there were a contract, that would be a problem. But it was a sudden thing. Well, I put him in the ring, but I hope we can gradually get things in order from here."
—The flow of the conversation led to a QQ ending, didn't it?
"That was just a coincidence. Also, following today's events, the next Korakuen Hall event on November 4th will be Bea Priestley vs. Mayu Iwatani. There will probably also be a match between Arisa Hoshiki and Jamie Hayter. And there are several tag team league matches already scheduled."
—Did Julia's resolve resonate with President Ogawa, leading him to accept her?
"Yes, I felt their determination."
—Do you know what kind of matches she's played?
"I had a feeling she was a good athlete. I thought she had a similar vibe to Hana Kimura. That's what I thought. Anyway, normally you can't come here. We don't have connections with various organizations. You have to be prepared. She's already on a train that can't be stopped, so I hope she charges ahead. She's only just started, but there's still a long way to go. Right now, we're not in a position to talk about what she's thinking, but I think there will be an opportunity to talk to her eventually."
